Gore-Tex® Duratherm Kelvin

At the heart of the Flagship boots is the Gore-Tex® Duratherm Kelvin membrane lining. Engineered with hollow-core fibres this lining offers outstanding insulation for minimal bulk. In fact, Northwave rates them as comfortable down to -15 degrees Celcius. The boots are also windproof and waterproof, keeping out the very worst of the winter weather.  

In order to ensure you can pedal smoothly and efficiently during winter, Northwave deploys their flexible Easyfit Climaflex collar. Not only allowing easy pedalling, the Gore-Tex Rattler® membrane also prevents water from getting in. 

Meanwhile, inside the shoes, the Arctic 4layer insole adds another layer of insulation from the cold - the four-layer aluminium and fleece construction works with the Gore-Tex membrane to deliver outstanding warmth even when you're cycling in temperatures below freezing.

Hyperlight XC Full Carbon Sole

Bringing an unrivalled response to your pedal inputs, the Hyperlight XC Full Carbon Sole turbo-charges your winter XC mountain biking.  Rated 14 out of 15 on Northwave's stiffness scale, this sole unit wastes little energy as you put the power down out of berms and as you attack technical climbs. The grip is kept minimal but functional, maintaining a low overall weight. For muddy cyclocross races and slippery trails, front studs can also be added for extra traction. 

XFrame® x Twin Dial SLW2 closure system

When it comes to long-ride comfort there's little that matches the snug-fitting XFrame® upper. This innovative design holds the foot firmly in place but does so without creating pressure points.

Continuing the snug and comfortable theme, the SLW2 closure system allows you to dial in the fit just how you like it. With two micro-adjust dials, you have precise control of the fit and feel of your shoes with independent adjustment to the upper and lower. And at the end of your ride, a single button release makes it easy to kick off your shoes. Quick. Simple, Durable. Precise.
