Gaerne Icestorm MTB GoreTex Boots 1.0

Rain, sleet or even snow - when conditions take a turn for the worse out on the trails, the Icestorm MTB GoreTex 1.0 Winter Boots come into their own.

Warmth Stays in. Rain Stays out.

Protection from the rain and cold starts with the use of a Gore-Tex® Duratherm® membrane. This sees a waterproof and breathable membrane laminated to a layer of hollow-fibre insulation. While warmth is retained, rain is kept out. At the ankle, a stretchy Gore-Tex Rattler® collar also provides reliable rain protection, while not hindering your smooth pedalling.

Moving to the inside, warmth is further enhanced via an insulated mid-sole. A reflective aluminium core is sandwiched between the sole and upper, creating a barrier against the cold. The anatomic design of the insole, with support in the tarsal area, also adds comfort for cycling. 

BOA IP-1 Dial Closure

To give you a quick and easy adjustment of your boots, even with gloved hands, the Icestorm's use a single BOA IP-12 dial. A simple turn forward increases pressure and a turn back loosens it off. You can adjust on the fly, giving a custom fit for varying training efforts, climbs and changes in the weather.

MTB 2Density Sole 7.0

Made from a composite of nylon and fibreglass, the MTB 2Density Sole 7.0 is both light and durable. It offers excellent pedalling efficiency, rated 7 out of 12 for stiffness, but with enough give for comfort over rough terrain and when walking. When you're off the bike the aggressive tread pattern gives tenacious grip across a variety of terrain. Two removable front studs can be fitted(not supplied), giving improved traction across variable and muddy terrain.

These boots are compatible with MTB pedal systems, which use the 2-bolt cleat standard (SPD standard), e.g.: Shimano SPD, Time ATAC, CrankBrothers, CrankBrothers Race, Look MTB, Xtreme MTB, Wellgo MTB, Ritchey MTB.
